Saiko Iyashi no Sato Nenba (西湖いやしの里根場), also known as Iyashi no Sato Nenba, is a beautiful traditional Japanese village near Mount Fuji located beside Lake Saiko in the Fuji Five Lakes area. This popular Mount Fuji tourist attraction was originally a farming village before being destroyed by a typhoon and landslide disaster in 1966. The village was later reconstructed and reopened in 2006 as an open-air museum and cultural village.
Today, visitors can explore more than 20 traditional thatched-roof houses, making it one of the most unique traditional villages near Mt Fuji. The houses have been transformed into museums, craft workshops, souvenir shops, restaurants, and galleries where visitors can experience Japanese culture and local traditions.
One of the most popular experiences at Iyashi no Sato Nenba is renting traditional Japanese clothing, including kimono, samurai armor, ninja outfits, and yukata.
