Came to Nagoya specifically to do the Shirakawago and Takayama day trip and booking the Toyota Hiace through Easy Travel Japan was the perfect decision for our group of 7. Both destinations are well outside the city so having a comfortable private vehicle for the whole day was absolutely essential. The Hiace handled the mountain roads beautifully — smooth and comfortable even through the more winding sections getting to Shirakawago. The traditional gassho-zukuri farmhouses at Shirakawago were absolutely breathtaking, especially with the mountain backdrop — one of the most photogenic spots we've seen in all of Japan. Takayama was equally impressive — the preserved Edo-period streets of Sanmachi Suji, the morning market, and the amazing local sake breweries made for a really rich cultural experience. Our driver Mr Lin spoke Mandarin and a little English which was perfect for us as Singaporeans — communication was natural and smooth the whole day. He also knew the best timing for each stop to help us beat the tour bus crowds. Stephanie from the operations team was also very responsive and helped plan the most efficient route between both destinations.
